Order Follow-Up
From purchase order to container loading — someone stays on site for you
Why small and mid-sized importers need it
- One team, start to finish. Initial production inspection, during production inspection, production monitoring, pre-shipment inspection and container loading supervision — all covered, no need to commission each order separately.
- No more taking the factory’s word on lead time. Your on-site representative tracks true capacity and progress, flagging delays early so you’re not forced into expensive air freight at the last minute.
- Vet new suppliers before committing. Four independent audit methods — without touching your pricing or product design. Zero exposure of commercial secrets.
- Defects followed through to closure. For orders with a history of recurring problems, we put people on site to make sure corrective actions actually land.
- On-site proof, not paperwork. Raw material arrivals, actual headcount on the line and live production conditions are verified in person.
- Back-office support included. Packaging confirmation, label verification and laboratory testing coordinated in parallel.
- Budget where it counts. Modules combine freely — invest only in the orders that are genuinely valuable or genuinely worrying.
1. What Order Follow-Up Is
1.1 Built for a real gap
In many sourcing markets, supply chain management is weak and importers cannot directly control production and quality. Order Follow-Up is built for exactly that gap: you outsource the full production and quality-control process to a third-party inspection company, locking in both quality and delivery date with professional oversight.
1.2 One-stop and customizable
It is a one-stop, fully customizable service. Scope varies with each importer’s program and is agreed between both parties.
1.3 What CQI delivers
CQI delivers dependable production and quality supply chain management to small and mid-sized importers worldwide. You gain local control on the ground in China — without building your own China QC team.
2. What Makes CQI Different
2.1 Inside your purchasing execution
We work inside your purchasing execution — production tracking, quality control and production risk assessment.
2.2 Your commercial secrets stay yours
We never enter price negotiation or product development between buyer and seller. Your cost structure and product design stay strictly confidential.
2.3 Where you are weakest: new suppliers
We intervene where you’re weakest: screening and auditing new suppliers. Four concrete methods assess supplier capability and reduce the risk of onboarding an unknown factory — while the sourcing decision stays yours.
2.4 Full-cycle quality capability
Early-stage control, mid-production control, workmanship assessment, quality stability assessment, late mass-production assessment, delivery-stage risk alerts, through to final container inspection and loading supervision.
3. How It Runs
3.1 On-site inspection stages
IPI – Initial Production Inspection At the start of production, catching workmanship risks in the trial run and checking materials and specifications.
DPI – During Production Inspection At 30–50% of mass production, confirming run stability.
PM – Production Monitoring Continuous on-site patrols across the build, tracking capacity and process execution.
PSI – Pre-Shipment Inspection Final inspection once 100% is complete and at least 80% is packed.
3.2 Orders that need it most
Key-account ordersTight quality control to protect your most valuable customer relationships.
Brand-new productsSurface latent workmanship and quality defects early in manufacturing.
Reorders with a defect historySupervise the factory to ensure corrective actions from past runs are actually implemented.
Compressed lead timesVerify real capacity and predict delay risk before you’re forced into costly air freight.
Suppliers you don’t fully trustVerify raw material arrivals, workers on the line and live production evidence, exposing inflated capacity claims and fabrication.
4. How It Differs From a Standalone Pre-Shipment Inspection
PSI alone
Single-point control: by the time a problem surfaces, there is no way back.
Order Follow-Up
Adds IPI and DPI, continuously screening day-to-day production risks and pinpointing the real root causes of production and shipment delays.
5. Field Supervision and Support Services
5.1 Back-office coordination
Packaging confirmation, label compliance verification, sample submission to laboratories — meets both export clearance and quality requirements.
5.2 On-site factory follow-up — the core
CQI inspectors represent you in monitoring production progress across every manufacturing stage, controlling quality and manufacturing risk step by step — effectively your resident representative inside the China factory.
6. The Bottom Line
6.1 No in-house China team needed
Small importers have limited teams and limited order volume. Outsourcing Order Follow-Up removes the cost of an in-house China QC team, freeing resources for product development, commercial negotiation and marketing — professional division of labor, multiplied operating efficiency.
6.2 Not every order needs the full package
Select modules as needed and prioritize high-value, high-risk and key projects to intercept supply chain problems early.
6.3 Watched the whole way
From first sketch to finished shipment, someone is watching the whole way — keeping quality stable and delivery on schedule.
